Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and control 33KV electrical systems and equipment within the power plant
- Perform regular inspection, repair, maintenance, and upgrading of electrical utilities equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, procedures, and guidelines for high-voltage operations
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, diagnose issues, and implement effective corrective actions
- Maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems, maintenance activities, and operational logs
- Coordinate with other departments and contractors for electrical system projects and modifications
- Respond to emergency situations and carry out switchgear operations as required
- Supervise and guide junior electrical staff on safe work practices and procedures
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Valid BO Chargeman certification (33KV) from the Energy Commission of Malaysia (ST)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical power plant operations or similar industrial setting
- In-depth knowledge of 33KV switchgear, transformers, and protection systems
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulations (EST 2010, OSHA)
- Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in Malay and English
