GOODCOCO is expanding its presence in Sabah and we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cafe Manager to lead our dynamic outlet in Papar, Sabah. As the Cafe Manager, you will be the driving force behind our Papar outlet's success. You will oversee every facet of the operation—from front-of-house hospitality and back-of-house efficiency to financial performance. Your responsibilities will be comprehensive: leading and developing a talented team, managing inventory and supplier relationships, ensuring meticulous compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations (including HACCP standards), and implementing strategies to maximize sales and profitability. You will be the primary point of contact for customer feedback and conflict resolution, embodying the warm and professional spirit of GOODCOCO.
The ideal candidate brings proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the F&B sector. You possess a strong business acumen, specifically in cost control, rostering, and P&L management. Naturally, you are an excellent communicator and motivator, fluent in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. Your technical knowledge of cafe operations, coffee culture, and kitchen workflows is outstanding. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily cafe operations, ensuring a seamless and high-quality customer experience.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a high-performing team of service and kitchen staff.
- Manage inventory levels, place orders with suppliers, and minimize food and beverage waste to achieve budgeted cost percentages.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations (e.g., HACCP, local council requirements).
- Handle customer feedback and service recovery requests with professionalism and empathy.
- Drive revenue growth through local marketing initiatives, upselling, and event coordination.
- Prepare reports on sales, payroll, and operational costs, contributing to the outlet’s financial goals.
- Maintain cafe equipment and ensure the premises are safe, clean, and visually appealing at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of management or supervisory experience in F&B, hospitality, or retail cafe environments.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, cost control, and profit & loss (P&L) analysis.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- In-depth understanding of food safety standards and local Sabah health regulations.
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is mandatory; proficiency in Mandarin is a distinct advantage.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays in a dynamic cafe environment.
