Are you a strategic retail professional with a passion for driving category growth? Cold Storage Singapore is seeking a data-driven and results-oriented Category Manager to join our team in Tampines. As a key player in our merchandising department, you will be responsible for defining and executing category strategies that enhance the customer shopping experience, optimize product assortment, and drive commercial profitability.
In this role, you will analyze market trends, manage vendor relationships, and oversee pricing strategies to ensure Cold Storage remains the preferred destination for high-quality retail goods. The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker who can translate complex data into actionable plans that boost store performance and brand loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies to achieve sales, margin, and market share targets.
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from assortment planning and sourcing to shelf placement.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and distributors to negotiate optimal terms and promotional activities.
- Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and potential risks.
- Analyze weekly sales performance data to adjust inventory levels and promotional tactics.
- Collaborate with the supply chain and store operations teams to ensure excellent product availability and shelf standards.
- Oversee pricing architecture and promotional calendars to maximize profitability and customer appeal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in category management or merchandising within the retail or FMCG sector.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, retail ERP systems, etc.).
- Proven track record of successful vendor negotiation and relationship management.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to translate market insights into business results.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and target-driven retail environment.
