Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient and timely food production.
  • Develop and execute exciting menus focusing on authentic local flavors and high-quality ingredients.
  • Manage food costing, gross profitability, and kitchen inventory levels.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, building a highly motivated and skilled team.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations (HACCP).
  • Oversee quality control of all dishes, ensuring consistent taste, presentation, and portion size.
  • Conduct supplier sourcing and negotiation, maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
  • Collaborate with the management team to drive innovation and business growth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Chef or Head Chef in a high-volume Non-Halal restaurant.
  • Deep understanding and passion for Malaysian cuisine and local flavors.
  • Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, food costs, and P&L for a kitchen.
  • Mastery of menu planning, costing, and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills under pressure.
