Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs in the preparation and cooking of various dishes, adhering to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including work stations, equipment, and storage areas, in line with hygiene regulations.
- Execute basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients accurately.
- Monitor and manage inventory of ingredients, reporting any shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP principles) at all times to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Support the kitchen team during service, ensuring timely and efficient dish delivery and assisting with plating.
- Learn and master various cooking techniques, methods, and recipes as guided by experienced chefs and culinary leaders.
- Handle and store food items properly to minimize waste, ensure freshness, and comply with food safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or formal culinary training (e.g., vocational diploma, culinary school certificate) is an advantage, but passionate beginners with a strong desire to learn are highly encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and culinary terminology.
