Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs with daily meal preparation, including washing, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
- Ensure the kitchen workspace is kept clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP).
- Manage inventory levels and restock kitchen stations before and during service hours.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and perform basic maintenance when required.
- Support the team during peak service hours to maintain food quality and plating consistency.
- Properly label, store, and rotate food items in refrigerators and dry storage areas.
- Assist in the preparation of sauces, stocks, and mise-en-place as directed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment preferred.
- Strong passion for cooking and a willingness to learn professional culinary techniques.
- Good physical stamina to handle long shifts in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work shift hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Possession of a valid Food Handler’s Certificate is an added advantage.
