Job Description
Meridian Financial Partners is seeking a highly experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations in New York City. This executive-level position offers the opportunity to shape financial strategy for a rapidly growing firm with over $2 billion in assets under management.
As Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, treasury management, and internal controls while mentoring a team of 12 accounting professionals. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a critical part in driving our continued expansion.

Responsibilities
- Direct all accounting operations including month-end close, year-end audit preparation, and regulatory reporting
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports with variance analysis
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements
- Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and liquidity planning
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for compliance and planning
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to achieve excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification required; MBA preferred
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with 4+ years in a Controller role
- Expert knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SAP, and financial modeling
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex multi-entity accounting environments
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Public accounting background or Big 4 experience highly preferred
- Experience in financial services or investment management a plus
