Cambridge is seeking a dedicated Cook cum Cleaner to support our preschool in River Valley. In this dual-role position, you will ensure that children enjoy nutritious meals prepared with care while maintaining a spotless, safe environment for learning and play. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks according to preschool nutritional guidelines.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, sanitize equipment, and ensure proper food storage.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting classrooms, play areas, and restrooms.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and kitchen inventory.
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Assist with setting up and clearing dining areas during meal times.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support a hygienic learning environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1‑2 years experience in food preparation and/or cleaning roles, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (e.g., HACCP, NEA guidelines).
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual cleaning tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings if required.
- Basic English proficiency; additional language skills are a plus.
