Join a world-class maritime operation as a Cook for a specialty heavy-lift vessel. Under the management of Diamond H Marine Services & Shipping Agency Inc. (formerly Diamond H DMW-147-SB-08122A24-R-MLC), we are seeking a skilled and experienced cook who holds a valid Schengen Visa to support our international crew and operations.
You will be responsible for preparing nutritious, varied, and culturally balanced meals for a multinational team onboard a modern heavy-lift vessel. This role requires self-sufficiency, high hygiene standards, and the ability to manage kitchen inventory and budgeting while adhering to strict maritime safety and food safety regulations.
This is a full-time position based in Manila, with embarkation on international voyages. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys teamwork, and takes pride in delivering high-quality cuisine even under challenging conditions at sea.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) for the ship's crew, considering dietary restrictions and cultural preferences.
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in compliance with maritime hygiene and HACCP standards.
- Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and maintain cost-effective provisioning.
- Keep the galley, storage areas, and equipment clean, organized, and fully functional.
- Coordinate with the ship's management on menu planning and special events.
- Adhere to waste management protocols and ensure proper disposal of food waste.
- Maintain a safe working environment, following all onboard safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Schengen Visa (required at time of application).
- At least 2 years of professional cooking experience, preferably in a maritime, cruise, or high-volume kitchen environment.
- Formal culinary training or certification is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces and at sea.
- Good communication skills; English proficiency required.
- Willingness to travel internationally and commit to extended sea voyages.
