Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Crewing Manager to join our team in Jakarta Timur. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of our seafaring personnel, ensuring operational excellence, safety compliance, and financial efficiency within our maritime logistics department.
The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership capabilities with in-depth knowledge of maritime regulations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for crewing matters, maintaining high retention rates and ensuring all vessels are staffed with qualified, compliant, and motivated crews to meet our demanding schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and deployment of seafaring crew members.
- Develop and maintain crewing schedules to ensure optimal vessel manning levels at all times.
- Monitor and manage the crewing budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising operational standards.
- Ensure full compliance with maritime safety standards, including STCW requirements and company safety management systems (SMS).
- Maintain robust relationships with maritime training institutions and crewing agencies to expand our talent pool.
- Lead and mentor the crewing administrative team to streamline processing and record-keeping.
- Act as the primary liaison during internal and external audits related to crew certifications and documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum holder of ANT III certification or a Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies/Logistics/Management or related field.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in a managerial capacity within the crewing or maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of Indonesian maritime laws, international safety regulations, and labor compliance.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage diverse seafaring teams.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize operational workflows.
- Extensive professional network within the maritime sector in Indonesia.
- Proficiency in English and Indonesian is required for documentation and international correspondence.
