We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Department of Finance as the Deputy Director - Income and Student Loan.
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will be entrusted with the strategic leadership and operational management of the university's income streams and student loan portfolio. This pivotal role ensures the financial sustainability of the institution by optimizing revenue collection, managing receivables, and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards, including PTPTN and other financial aid schemes.
You will lead a dedicated team of finance professionals, driving excellence in financial operations. Your expertise will guide the university in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the income division. You will also play a critical role in implementing internal control frameworks and streamlining processes through system enhancements.

Responsibilities
- Strategic oversight of university income streams, including student fees, government allocations, and research grants.
- Management of the Student Loan division, ensuring full compliance with PTPTN and other financial aid schemes.
- Development and enforcement of robust internal controls for revenue collection, credit control, and accounts receivable.
- Leading the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for income, providing variance analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Mentoring and managing a high-performing team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with academic and administrative departments to optimize financial processes and student financial services.
- Preparing comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's Degree is highly preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, MIA) is mandatory.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or managerial capacity.
- Extensive experience in income management, credit control, and student loan administration within the education sector is a strong advantage.
- Deep understanding of Malaysian financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards (MFRS/MPERS).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, UBS) and Microsoft Excel.
