Gliderol Doors (S) Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled Design Engineer / Drafter to join our West Region team. The role combines mechanical design and precise drafting to translate concepts into production-ready drawings for a range of garage door systems and components. In this role, you will transform product requirements into accurate 2D drawings and 3D models, ensuring compliance with standards, tolerances, and manufacturability. You will partner with engineering, procurement, and shop floor teams to optimize designs, support new product introductions, and contribute to cost-effective, high-performance solutions. You will create and maintain documentation such as BOMs, assembly instructions, revision histories, and engineering change notices to support manufacturing and quality assurance.

Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed CAD drawings and 3D models for garage door systems and components using CAD software.
- Collaborate with product development, manufacturing, and QA to ensure designs meet manufacturability, quality, and safety requirements.
- Create and maintain bill of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and revision documentation.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities; document changes and implement design improvements.
- Revise drawings based on engineering changes, supplier inputs, or updated standards.
- Assist in cost optimization and value engineering to reduce material usage without compromising performance.
- Interpret product specifications, tolerances, and GD&T to guide accurate production.
- Provide clear technical support to shop floor teams and collaborate across functions to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of CAD drafting/ design experience, preferably in metal fabrication or door systems.
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of GD&T and standard manufacturing tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Experience with BOM management and basic ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
