As a Draughtsman, you will work closely with engineers and project managers to prepare, revise, and finalise M&E drawings—including layouts, schematics, and installation details—ensuring all outputs meet industry standards and project timelines. Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise mechanical and electrical (M&E) CAD drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with project specifications and local regulations.
- Coordinate with engineers and project managers to interpret design concepts, mark-ups, and site requirements.
- Create detailed layouts, schematics, single-line diagrams, and installation details for building services (HVAC, lighting, power, fire protection, etc.).
- Maintain drawing registers, version control, and documentation standards for all project deliverables.
- Assist in site walkthroughs to verify existing conditions and update drawings as needed.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers to incorporate equipment specifications into final drawings.
- Support the engineering team with design modifications and as-built documentation throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure all drawings are reviewed, approved, and issued in a timely manner to meet construction milestones.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draughtsman, preferably in M&E building services or construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of M&E drafting standards, symbols, and layering conventions.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to work in a team.
- Experience with Revit or BIM software is advantageous but not required.
