Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, control system anomalies, and instrumentation errors to minimize production downtime.
  • Calibrate field instruments according to manufacturer specifications and plant standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment and process instrumentation.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) guidelines and environmental regulations within the plant.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement system upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support 24/7 plant operations, including on-call duties or shift rotations as required by the maintenance schedule.

Qualifications

  • NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience within a Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Petrochemical manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise in reading and interpreting electrical schematic diagrams, P&IDs, and loop drawings.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, DCS, and industrial automation protocols is highly advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team under pressure.
  • Good understanding of hazardous area requirements and ATEX/IECEx standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to maintaining a safety-first culture.
  • Proficient in using standard hand tools and calibrated testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, signal generators).
