Job Description

Are you an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional with a strong background in the semiconductor or PCB industry? PERSOL is seeking a dedicated EHS Lead to join a leading manufacturing facility based in Simpang Ampat, Penang. In this critical role, you will drive a culture of safety excellence while ensuring full compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving EHS management systems across the plant. This includes conducting risk assessments, leading incident investigations, managing hazardous materials, and coordinating with regulatory bodies such as DOSH. As the certified Site Safety & Health Officer (SHO) and Green Book Holder, you will be the key point of contact for all safety matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the site’s EHS management system in accordance with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification for all plant operations.
  • Ensure compliance with DOSH, DOE, and local regulatory requirements, including OSHA 1994 and FMA 1967.
  • Act as the certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) and Green Book Holder, maintaining all required documentation.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances; prepare detailed reports and drive corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage chemical safety, waste disposal, and emergency response planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into new processes and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in the semiconductor, PCB, or electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) registered with DOSH – Green Book Holder is mandatory.
  • Thorough knowledge of Malaysian EHS legislation, including OSHA 1994, EQA 1974, and relevant industry codes.
  • Hands-on experience with chemical management, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene programs.
  • Proven ability to lead audits (internal & external) and manage regulatory inspections.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
