Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain electrical distribution systems and equipment in compliance with Energy Commission (ST) standards.
- Perform routine troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on power plant electrical assets.
- Ensure full adherence to all safety protocols, work permits, and electrical regulations during daily operations.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to monitor load management and identify potential electrical faults.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation for electrical maintenance activities and site inspections.
- Respond promptly to emergency electrical failures or site outages to minimize downtime.
- Assist in the supervision of electrical contractors and service providers to ensure quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Electrical Chargeman Certificate (A0, A1, or A4) issued by the Energy Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
- Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience in power plant electrical maintenance or industrial facility operations.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuit diagrams, switchgear, transformers, and protection relays.
- Deep knowledge of Malaysia’s Electricity Supply Act 1990 and relevant electrical safety regulations.
- Ability to work on a rotational shift schedule as required by site operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and precision.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
