Responsibilities
- Design and engineer solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for various applications
- Conduct site assessments to determine system requirements and constraints
- Prepare electrical designs, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications
- Perform shading analysis, energy yield calculations, and system sizing
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, utility requirements, and safety standards
- Coordinate with project managers, installers, and subcontractors throughout project lifecycle
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases
- Review and approve system designs, material submittals, and as-built documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) license is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in solar PV system design and installation
- Strong knowledge of solar PV components, inverters, and balance-of-system (BOS)
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar
- Familiarity with local building codes and utility interconnection processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
