Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical power, lighting, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection.
  • Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance testing to ensure system reliability and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults, coordinating with vendors and internal teams for timely repairs.
  • Lead or support capital improvement projects, from concept design through installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Prepare detailed maintenance reports, work orders, and documentation for audits and regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement efficiency initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
  • Ensure adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, infection control guidelines, and hospital safety protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers, technicians, and contracted service providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in MEP engineering, preferably within healthcare, commercial, or high‑rise buildings.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design, electrical systems, plumbing & drainage, and fire protection systems.
  • Familiarity with local standards and codes (SS CP, SS 531, NEA, PUB, SCDF) and international benchmarks (ASHRAE, IEC, NFPA).
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools such as Revit or Navisworks is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills, including ability to manage timelines, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities; capable of liaising with clinical staff, administrators, and external contractors.
