Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore is seeking a proactive Engineering Manager to oversee all building and plant operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency across our luxury waterfront property. In this leadership role, you will direct a team of skilled technicians, coordinate daily maintenance activities, and implement forwardâthinking engineering strategies that support an exceptional guest experience.
Youâll work closely with senior management to align engineering objectives with overall hotel goals, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include planning preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systems; preparing and controlling the engineering budget; and ensuring full compliance with local regulations and hotel policies.

Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and supervise a team of engineering staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Plan, schedule and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Manage budget, procurement and vendor contracts to ensure costâeffective operations while meeting quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety codes and hotel policies; conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with other departments to support hotel events, renovations and capital projects.
- Implement energyâsaving initiatives and new technologies to improve sustainability and reduce operational costs.
- Prepare and present maintenance reports, performance metrics and improvement plans to senior management.
- Respond to emergency incidents and provide onâcall support as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related field; professional certification (e.g., PE, CME) is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive engineering or maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building automation systems.
- Strong knowledge of Singaporeâs safety regulations and building codes.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts and vendor relationships.
- Experience with project management and capital works coordination.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
