Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular environmental site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with NEA regulations, environmental laws, and company EHS policies.
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce Earth Control Measures (ECM) to prevent soil erosion and water pollution on construction sites.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive environmental reports, including pollution control measures, waste management plans, and incident reports, to NEA and internal management.
  • Advise project teams on environmental best practices, waste minimization strategies, and sustainable construction methods.
  • Investigate all environmental incidents, non-compliances, and public feedback, recommending and overseeing the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver environmental awareness and training programs for site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper management and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., NEA) on environmental matters and inspections.

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid Environmental Control Officer (ECO) Certificate and be registered with the National Environment Agency (NEA).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience as an ECO in the construction industry in Singapore.
  • Proven track record in implementing and managing Earth Control Measures (ECM) effectively.
  • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Thorough understanding of Singapore's environmental regulations, including the Environmental Public Health Act, Sewerage and Drainage Act, and other relevant codes of practice.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify environmental risks and propose practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, meticulous, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
