Responsibilities
- Conduct regular environmental site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with NEA regulations, environmental laws, and company EHS policies.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce Earth Control Measures (ECM) to prevent soil erosion and water pollution on construction sites.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive environmental reports, including pollution control measures, waste management plans, and incident reports, to NEA and internal management.
- Advise project teams on environmental best practices, waste minimization strategies, and sustainable construction methods.
- Investigate all environmental incidents, non-compliances, and public feedback, recommending and overseeing the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and deliver environmental awareness and training programs for site personnel and subcontractors.
- Ensure proper management and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., NEA) on environmental matters and inspections.
Qualifications
- Possess a valid Environmental Control Officer (ECO) Certificate and be registered with the National Environment Agency (NEA).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience as an ECO in the construction industry in Singapore.
- Proven track record in implementing and managing Earth Control Measures (ECM) effectively.
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Thorough understanding of Singapore's environmental regulations, including the Environmental Public Health Act, Sewerage and Drainage Act, and other relevant codes of practice.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify environmental risks and propose practical solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proactive, meticulous, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
