Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily housekeeping operations including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to maintain Shangri-La’s exacting standards.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules, inventory control procedures, and budgeting to optimize resources and expenditures.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas regularly to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with brand standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Front Office and Maintenance to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Manage guest feedback and resolve any housekeeping-related issues promptly and courteously.
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of housekeeping management experience in a luxury hotel or resort environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
