Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design phase for various architectural projects, from initial brainstorming to preliminary design.
- Create high-quality hand sketches and digital visualizations that effectively communicate design intent and spatial logic.
- Conduct thorough site analyses and environmental studies to inform conceptual frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and clients to translate project requirements into innovative design solutions.
- Develop detailed spatial planning layouts that optimize functionality and user experience.
- Present design concepts to stakeholders using a variety of media, including diagrams, models, and sketches.
- Ensure all conceptual designs adhere to local building codes and sustainability standards.
- Mentor junior design staff and provide creative direction throughout the early project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience with a heavy focus on conceptual design.
- A robust portfolio that explicitly demonstrates conceptual design thinking and hand-sketching ability.
- Exceptional spatial planning skills and an understanding of architectural scale and proportion.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Rhino.
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to tell a story through design.
- Deep knowledge of site-specific design constraints and urban planning principles.
- Professional license in Architecture is a significant advantage.
