In this contract role based in Alor Gajah, you will spearhead the planning, coordination, and flawless execution of banquet events ranging from weddings and galas to corporate conferences. Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of banquet events, aligning with client requirements and venue standards.
- Supervise and train service staff, assign roles, and manage staffing levels for each event.
- Coordinate with culinary team to finalize menu sequencing, timing, and portion control to ensure quality and on-time service.
- Manage event logistics, including floor plans, setup, table configurations, service flow, and A/V arrangements.
- Maintain high guest service standards, handle guest concerns discreetly, and ensure a warm, professional atmosphere.
- Liaise with clients and vendors, provide timely updates, and ensure smooth communication from booking to post-event.
- Monitor safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance; ensure cleanliness of banquet areas during and after events.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to identify improvement opportunities and report results to management.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or equivalent, or proven banquet/event management experience.
- Several years of experience in F&B, banquet operations, or events.
- Strong leadership, communication, and guest relations skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of banquet service standards, floor plans, timelines, and guest flow.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and event management software.
- Knowledge of safety, hygiene, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
- Fluency in English; Malay language skills are an advantage.
