We are currently seeking a skilled Fabrication & Welding Technician to join our team on a one-year renewable contract. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of welding and fabrication tasks using advanced MIG and TIG techniques. You will work from engineering blueprints, ensure weld integrity through rigorous inspection, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong technical skills, and thrives in a fast-paced production setting.

Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals (steel, aluminum, stainless steel) per engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to fabricate components accurately.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools, performing routine adjustments and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineers and production supervisors to optimize fabrication processes and resolve issues.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to workplace safety regulations.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of welding consumables and report shortages.
- Document work completed, including weld logs and inspection reports, for quality assurance.
Qualifications
- NITEC or Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in MIG and TIG welding in a manufacturing environment.
- Certification in welding processes (e.g., AWS, CSWIP) is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of metal properties, welding techniques, and fabrication methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
