Responsibilities
- Develop innovative sportswear designs from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with brand identity and market trends
- Research current fashion trends, materials, and technologies in athletic apparel to inform design decisions
- Create detailed technical drawings, sketches, and specification sheets for production teams
- Collaborate with fabric suppliers and manufacturers to select appropriate materials for sportswear
- Coordinate with product development and merchandising teams to ensure timely delivery of collections
- Conduct fittings and make adjustments to prototypes to achieve optimal fit and functionality
- Present design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final designs
- Stay updated on industry developments and competitor offerings to maintain competitive edge
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in fashion design, preferably in sportswear or activewear
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD systems
- Strong understanding of fabric properties, garment construction, and sewing techniques
- Excellent creative and visual design skills with a keen eye for color and detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills for cross-functional teamwork
- Passion for sportswear fashion and awareness of current industry trends
