Are you an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Technician looking for a challenging contract role in the aviation or logistics sector? PERSOL, a leading recruitment firm, is seeking a skilled Ground Support Technician to join our client's team at Boon Lay. In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) including tugs, loaders, belt loaders, and other specialized machinery.
Your primary focus will be on diagnosing and resolving faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably. You will work independently or as part of a team to complete preventive maintenance schedules and ad-hoc repairs, adhering to strict safety standards and operational procedures. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
We offer a competitive salary package of S$2,500 – S$3,000 per month (depending on experience) with a contract term that provides stability and opportunity for career growth. Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on GSE such as tugs, loaders, and belt loaders.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system faults.
- Conduct inspections to ensure equipment meets safety and reliability standards.
- Replace defective components, such as motors, pumps, valves, and wiring.
- Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to identify issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts usage.
- Coordinate with operations team to minimize equipment downtime.
- Adhere to workplace safety procedures and protocols.
Qualifications
- NITEC or Higher NITEC in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance of heavy equipment or vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (wiring, circuits, motors) and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and hand tools.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit to handle heavy components and work in various environments.
- Willingness to work shifts or overtime when required.
