Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome members with enthusiasm, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere from the moment they arrive.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the gym floor, changing rooms, and common areas to Virgin Active’s high standards.
  • Assist members with equipment usage, provide basic exercise guidance, and ensure all equipment is safe and in working order.
  • Monitor gym capacity and flow, managing access and helping members navigate the facility smoothly.
  • Handle member inquiries, feedback, and requests with professionalism and a can‑do attitude.
  • Support operational tasks such as inventory management, opening/closing procedures, and reporting maintenance issues.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to deliver exceptional member experiences and contribute to a positive club culture.

Qualifications

  • Passion for fitness, wellness, and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Energetic, approachable, and able to build rapport with people from all backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Previous experience in a gym, hospitality, or customer‑facing role is an advantage but not required.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving equipment up to 20 kg.
