Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of gardens, lawns, flower beds, and ornamental plants to ensure pristine presentation.
- Water, prune, weed, mulch, and fertilize plants according to seasonal schedules and plant health requirements.
- Monitor and control pests, diseases, and invasive species using environmentally friendly methods.
- Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems.
- Assist in planting new flowers, shrubs, trees, and decorative features to enhance the hotel’s landscape design.
- Keep walkways, pathways, and garden furniture clean and free of debris for guest safety and aesthetics.
- Collaborate with the landscaping team to plan and execute seasonal displays and special event decorations.
- Report any structural or safety issues in the garden area to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in gardening, landscaping, or groundskeeping, preferably in a hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of tropical plants, flowers, and soil types common to Malaysia.
- Ability to operate standard gardening equipment safely and effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including lifting up to 25kg.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetic landscaping.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
- Certificate in horticulture or landscaping is an advantage.
