Job Description
Are you a meticulous engineering professional with a passion for building integrity? Land Pacific Development is seeking a dedicated Inspector of Work (Structural & Geotechnical) to join our prestigious team in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. In this critical role, you will be the eyes and ears on-site, ensuring that our ambitious urban projects meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and engineering excellence.
As an Inspector of Work, you will oversee the full lifecycle of structural and geotechnical operations—from initial earthworks and deep foundation piling to the final stages of reinforced concrete placement. We are looking for an expert who understands the nuances of site safety, material testing, and quality control. You will bridge the gap between design plans and on-site execution, providing invaluable insights that protect both our infrastructure and the public. If you thrive in high-pressure construction environments and have an uncompromising eye for detail, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and inspect all structural and geotechnical construction activities to ensure strict compliance with approved engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct regular site audits of earthworks, shoring, and piling operations to identify potential risks and maintain site safety standards.
- Oversee the quality control of reinforced concrete works, including inspection of rebar installation, formwork stability, and concrete casting procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive site records, daily progress reports, and non-conformance logs for project management review.
- Collaborate closely with Resident Engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve technical site issues in real-time.
- Perform verification of material quality, including slump tests, cube sampling, and geotechnical soil testing protocols.
- Ensure that all site activities adhere to local safety regulations, building codes, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related construction management field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in structural and geotechnical inspection within a high-rise or large-scale construction environment.
- In-depth knowledge of MSMA, local building regulations, and Eurocode/BS standards for structural works.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and geotechnical reports.
- Proficiency in site monitoring software and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting.
- Valid certification (e.g., IKM, Board of Engineers Malaysia related accreditation) is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage on-site contractor relationships effectively.
