APSN Education Services is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructor Assistant to join our team in Eunos. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, working closely with our main instructors to deliver high-quality educational programmes.
As an Instructor Assistant, you will provide critical support in the classroom, ensuring that every student receives the attention and guidance they need to thrive. Whether you are assisting with lesson delivery, facilitating hands-on activities, or stepping in to lead sessions, your contribution will directly enhance the educational outcomes of our students. We are looking for a proactive team player who is adaptable, patient, and eager to grow within the special education sector.
Responsibilities
- Support main programme instructors in the daily delivery and facilitation of educational lessons.
- Assist in the assessment and monitoring of student progress against individual learning goals.
- Cover programme delivery independently whenever the main instructor is unavailable.
- Prepare classroom materials, teaching aids, and learning resources prior to sessions.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to ensure they remain engaged and supported.
- Maintain classroom safety and ensure a conducive, respectful environment for all students.
- Collaborate with the educational team to implement behavior management and intervention strategies.
- Perform administrative tasks related to student attendance and academic documentation.
Qualifications
- Possess at least a GCE 'O' Level, NITEC, or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Previous experience working in special education or a social service setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students and stakeholders.
- High level of patience, empathy, and resilience when managing diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for administrative and reporting tasks.
- A proactive attitude with the willingness to undergo continuous professional development.
- Candidates with a certification in Special Needs Education or relevant teaching assistants training will have an advantage.
