Job Description

Hong Leong Bank is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Intern to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur. You will work closely with experienced safety professionals to monitor risks, participate in safety audits, and contribute to the implementation of safety protocols. Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting regular workplace safety inspections and risk assessments across bank premises.
  • Support the OHS team in documenting and tracking safety incidents and near-miss reports.
  • Help maintain and update OHS documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance registers.
  • Participate in organizing safety awareness programs and emergency evacuation drills.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis to support the development of safety improvement initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support to the OHS department during audit preparations.
  • Ensure all OHS activities align with internal policies and Malaysian statutory requirements (OSHA 1994).

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and related regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey safety information clearly.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a corporate environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude and a genuine interest in building a career in OHS management.
