The Role
As a Junior Chef, you will work closely with our team of skilled chefs, assisting in all aspects of food preparation and cooking. Your responsibilities will include maintaining kitchen hygiene, managing inventory, and helping ensure smooth operations during service. This full-time role requires 44-48 hours per week, with overtime compensation for hours worked beyond 44. The salary ranges from $2,000 to $2,600 per month, commensurate with experience. You will have the opportunity to learn various cooking techniques and contribute to menu development.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen workstation.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation and ordering.
- Ensure timely completion of food preparation and service tasks.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Support senior chefs in daily operations and special events.
- Help with receiving and storing incoming deliveries.
- Participate in menu development and tasting sessions as required.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a commercial kitchen is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (certification preferred).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.
- Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent is a plus.
