The Diagnostics Development (DxD) Hub at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is seeking a motivated Junior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work alongside multi-disciplinary teams of data scientists, clinicians, and regulatory experts to design, integrate, and validate complex software systems. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and document software architectures for medical device applications.
- Support the integration of AI models and machine learning pipelines into regulated software environments.
- Assist in the execution of system testing, validation, and verification (V&V) protocols to ensure product safety and efficacy.
- Manage system configuration and documentation in compliance with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 standards.
- Monitor and troubleshoot software system performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing technical improvements.
- Coordinate with data engineers to ensure robust data ingestion and processing workflows for medical imaging and diagnostics.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support regulatory submissions and quality assurance audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and systems integration principles.
- Familiarity with medical device regulations (e.g., HSA, FDA, ISO 13485) is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java for system development.
- Experience or academic exposure to AI/ML deployment frameworks and cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholder requirements.
- Detail-oriented approach to documentation and rigorous adherence to engineering best practices.
