Since our founding over a decade ago, we have pioneered unique approaches to vector control and disease prevention. We are seeking a dedicated Mosquito Biologist to help us refine our biological models and drive our research initiatives forward.
As part of our diverse team, you will work alongside data scientists, engineers, and build technicians to develop and test biological interventions. Responsibilities
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments to investigate mosquito behavior, genetics, and response to interventions.
- Analyze biological data and collaborate with data science teams to model population dynamics and spread patterns.
- Develop and optimize biological control strategies, including sterile insect technique (SIT) or Wolbachia-based approaches.
- Maintain and manage complex laboratory ecosystems, ensuring compliance with safety and biosafety protocols.
- Document research findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our biological tools and debug processes.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Entomology, Biology, Genetics, or a related scientific field.
- Proven experience in molecular biology techniques, microscopy, or insect physiology.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and statistical models.
- Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional research environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
