Manna Pot Catering is looking for a reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team in Bedok North, East Region. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, supporting chefs with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and managing ingredient inventory.
You will be responsible for assisting with basic food prep tasks such as washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to recipes. Keeping the kitchen equipment spotless is essential – you will regularly wash, sanitize, and store pots, pans, utensils, and appliances. Maintaining an organized pantry and labeling stock correctly will help us reduce waste and ensure freshness.
Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, pays close attention to detail, and follows all food safety and hygiene standards. You will work closely with chefs and fellow kitchen staff to meet high‑volume catering orders while upholding our quality standards. As part of our team, you will also assist with setting up for events, transporting ingredients to preparation stations, and helping with basic plating when required. We provide all necessary protective gear and regular training on food safety regulations.

Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with food preparation tasks such as washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to recipes.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Keep the kitchen environment tidy by cleaning surfaces, sweeping floors, and disposing of waste in accordance with hygiene standards.
- Organize and rotate ingredients, ensuring proper labeling and storage to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and informing supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
- Follow all food safety and safety regulations, including proper handling of hot and cold foods, to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP) is advantageous.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
