Responsibilities
- Assist the culinary team in daily food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, including washing dishes and cleaning equipment.
- Ensure that all food safety and hygiene protocols are strictly followed at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking supplies as needed.
- Support the kitchen staff during peak hours to ensure efficient workflow and timely food delivery.
- Operate and maintain kitchen tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assist in organizing storage areas and refrigerators to maintain optimal food quality.
- Support the team in waste management and following sustainable kitchen practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar role within a food service environment is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations (HACCP knowledge is preferred).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle the physical demands of a busy kitchen.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
