Brightserve Solutions Inc is looking for a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team at our SM LIPA location in Batangas City. In this role, you will help ensure smooth kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Key responsibilities include receiving and storing ingredients, washing and cutting vegetables, measuring spices, assisting cooks during plating, cleaning workstations, sanitizing equipment, and adhering to HACCP guidelines. You will also monitor inventory levels, report any equipment malfunctions, and participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on culinary trends and safety protocols. Our kitchen operates on a shift basis, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential. In addition, you will support the head chef in preparing special dishes for events, ensure proper portion control, and help maintain a positive and collaborative atmosphere that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, including washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen workspaces, utensils, and equipment.
- Support cooks during cooking and plating processes to ensure timely service.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in receiving and storing supplies.
- Adhere to food safety standards and HACCP guidelines at all times.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a plus.
- Prior experience as a kitchen assistant, cook helper, or in a food service role.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a teamāoriented attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid health clearance and willingness to obtain any required certifications.
