Outpost X is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Kitchen Operations Head to join our team in the beautiful paradise of Coron, Palawan. As the primary leader of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for defining the culinary direction, ensuring world-class quality standards, and driving operational excellence across all shifts.
In this role, you will act as the heartbeat of our kitchen, managing menu innovation, inventory integrity, and team development. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can balance the creative side of menu development with the logistical precision required to manage a busy, high-volume kitchen. Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, food safety, and compliance with high standards.
- Lead menu development and periodic refreshes, incorporating local flavors and seasonal ingredients to delight our guests.
- Manage inventory, procurement, and supplier relationships to optimize food costs and minimize wastage.
- Direct, train, and mentor the kitchen brigade, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Monitor and enforce strict health, hygiene, and food sanitation protocols according to safety regulations.
- Collaborate with management to set operational budgets and meet financial targets through effective cost control.
- Resolve kitchen-related issues efficiently, ensuring a smooth flow of service during peak hours.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a head chef or kitchen management role within a hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant.
- Proven track record of success in menu planning, food cost management, and kitchen logistics.
- Deep understanding of food safety standards (HACCP certification preferred).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A creative mindset with a passion for culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Must be willing to be based in Coron, Palawan.
