As a crucial member of our back-of-house team, your daily tasks will include washing, sanitizing, and properly storing all dishes, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils. You will keep the dish pit and surrounding areas organized and spotless. Additionally, you will assist our talented culinary team with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing and portioning ingredients, and strictly adhere to all HACCP and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store all dishes, glassware, silverware, and cooking utensils.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dish pit, including floors, counters, and sinks.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks (washing, peeling, cutting ingredients) as directed by the chef.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and labeling of all cleaning chemicals following safety protocols.
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling, and compost procedures efficiently.
  • Perform deep cleaning duties on kitchen equipment such as ranges, fryers, and ventilation systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels of dishwashing supplies and communicate restocking needs to management.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the Kitchen Manager immediately.

Qualifications

  • At least a High School diploma (Senior High School graduate preferred).
  • Previous experience as a Dishwasher, Steward, or Kitchen Helper in a high-volume restaurant is an advantage but not required.
  • Must be physically fit, able to stand for long hours, and capable of lifting up to 25 kilograms.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • Willingness to work a shifting schedule including weekends, holidays, and late nights.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Food safety certification (e.g., NCII in Food and Beverage Services) is a plus.
