Job Description

HELP University invites applications for the role of Law Lecturer in Damansara, Selangor. We seek highly qualified candidates with a Master or Doctorate in Law from a recognized institution. Preference for those with a Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or admission to the Bar, and a track record of teaching and research in areas such as constitutional law, commercial law, international law, and legal theory.

As a member of our Faculty of Law, you will deliver undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise student research, design innovative curricula, and contribute to the development of the law program. You will employ diverse teaching methodologies, integrate case studies, simulations, and legal clinics where appropriate, and leverage digital learning tools to enhance student engagement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching, mentorship of students, and scholarly activity leading to publications and conference presentations. Collaborative goals include program assessment, accreditation readiness, and mentoring junior faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality law courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in areas such as constitutional law, contract law, tort, and legal ethics.
  • Develop and update engaging course materials, assessments, and learning resources to support student success.
  • Assess and grade student work, providing timely feedback and constructive guidance.
  • Mentor and supervise student research projects, dissertations, and internships.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, publish research, and participate in academic conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Contribute to student advising, career guidance, and academic planning.
  • Participate in outreach, community engagement, and law school events.

Qualifications

  • Master or Doctorate in Law from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate in Legal Practice CLP or bar admission in Malaysia or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proven teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Malay is a plus.
  • Demonstrated research capability with a record of scholarly work and publications.
