Job Description

Ramboll Group is a global engineering, design and consultancy company dedicated to creating sustainable solutions for the built environment. We are currently looking for a Lead Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Engineer to join our Asia‑Pacific Energy team, based in Singapore. In this senior role you will drive the development and execution of cutting‑edge electrical, instrumentation and control systems for large‑scale power generation, transmission and renewable energy projects across the region.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering groups, clients, contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure that all EIC deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency and environmental compliance. This position offers the opportunity to influence project outcomes from early concept through to commissioning and handover, while mentoring a team of junior engineers.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive technical expertise in electrical distribution, process instrumentation, PLC/SCADA systems and relevant international standards. Strong communication and project management skills are essential, as you will be responsible for coordinating resources, managing schedules and presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptual, basic and detailed design of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for energy projects, ensuring compliance with IEC, NEC and other relevant standards.
  • Manage and coordinate EIC engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to commissioning and handover.
  • Develop and review technical specifications, single‑line diagrams, loop diagrams, control philosophies and other design documentation.
  • Interface with clients, contractors and regulators to resolve technical issues, conduct site inspections and provide expert support during construction and start‑up phases.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance system performance, reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals, estimating effort and presenting technical capabilities to prospective clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience in EIC engineering within the energy sector, preferably with exposure to APAC markets.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley) and SCADA/HMI design and integration.
  • Solid understanding of relevant standards such as IEC, NEC, NFPA and ATEX for electrical and instrumentation installations.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills, with the ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent registration is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with BIM, CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and project management software (Primavera, MS Project) is a plus.
