Job Description

Almacrest Training Academy is seeking a dedicated Lecturer (Accounting) to deliver high‑quality instruction in accounting and finance subjects to undergraduate and vocational students. In this contract role you will be responsible for designing, teaching, and assessing a range of accounting courses, ensuring learners grasp both theoretical concepts and practical applications.

You will guide students through the fundamentals of financial accounting, management accounting, taxation, and auditing, using modern pedagogical methods and technology‑enhanced learning resources. By fostering critical thinking and real‑world problem solving, you will help shape the next generation of accounting professionals.

Key duties include curriculum alignment with industry standards, development of assessment tools, evaluation of student progress, and provision of academic support through tutorials and office hours. Collaboration with faculty and participation in departmental meetings will be essential to maintain the high standards of our training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, workshops, and laboratory sessions on accounting topics such as financial reporting, cost accounting, and taxation.
  • Design and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools to align with the latest industry standards and curriculum requirements.
  • Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, projects, and presentations, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Mentor and guide students in their academic and professional development, offering office hours and additional tutoring as needed.
  • Participate in curriculum development, academic meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Education & Training department.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course evaluations, and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance the relevance and impact of the accounting program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching or professional experience in accounting, preferably at a higher education or training institution.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse learner groups.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with a proactive approach to curriculum delivery.
  • Commitment to student‑centred learning and continuous professional development.
