You will manage a wide range of legal matters, draft and review contracts, and ensure full compliance with Indonesian regulations. This role demands precise interpretation of terms in both Indonesian and Mandarin, enabling clear communication with local partners, vendors, and internal teams.
As a Mandarin-speaking Legal Officer, you will bridge cross-cultural requirements, translate complex legal concepts into actionable language, and provide timely advice to support commercial activities, risk management, and corporate governance. Your work will contribute to smooth operations, robust risk controls, and sustainable growth for our fleet and client base.

Key responsibilities include developing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts and agreements; ensuring regulatory compliance across Indonesian laws; maintaining up-to-date records and company policies; advising on dispute resolution and risk mitigation; and coordinating with internal stakeholders to support strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, charter parties, service agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard company interests.
- Monitor and interpret Indonesian regulations affecting shipping, logistics, and trade, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Provide clear legal guidance to commercial and operations teams in both Indonesian and Mandarin for cross-border activities.
- Manage intellectual property, data privacy, and corporate governance matters, maintaining up-to-date policies and records.
- Lead due diligence, risk assessments, and dispute resolution processes with external counsel when needed.
- Serve as the primary liaison with vendors, partners, and regulatory authorities, ensuring timely communication and accurate documentation.
- Support internal trainings on legal and compliance topics to enhance organizational awareness and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (SH or equivalent) from an accredited Indonesian institution.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in corporate law, maritime/shipping, or a related field.
- Fluent in Indonesian and Mandarin; proficiency in English is a plus.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills with attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of Indonesian regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities; ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management systems; comfortable with fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
