Responsibilities
- Verify and dispense prescriptions accurately while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Provide counseling on medications, dosages, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Conduct medication therapy management and collaborate with physicians to optimize therapy.
- Review and reconcile medication orders, verify dosages, and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee compounding and sterile preparation in accordance with USP guidelines.
- Participate in quality assurance, audits, and compliance initiatives.
- Educate patients on adherence, safety programs, and infection control measures.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program.
- Active Pharmacist license in New York State.
- Minimum 2 years of hospital, retail, or clinical pharmacy experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and EHR/EMR.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
