Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications, ensuring patient safety and adherence to all legal and ethical guidelines.
- Provide comprehensive medication therapy management (MTM) and patient counseling on drug indications, side effects, and proper usage.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans.
- Manage pharmacy operations, including inventory control, ordering, and maintaining secure storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Oversee and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Maintain thorough and accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Stay current with pharmaceutical advancements, clinical guidelines, and regulatory changes through continuous professional development.
- Participate in community health initiatives and wellness programs to promote public health awareness.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of New York.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a practicing Pharmacist, preferably in a retail or community pharmacy setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in medication dispensing, patient counseling, and clinical pharmacy services.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to patient education.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
