Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vessels to determine their condition, seaworthiness, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform detailed cargo surveys, including quantity and quality assessments during loading and unloading processes.
- Evaluate the structural integrity of hulls, machinery, and electrical systems in accordance with maritime classification standards.
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate survey reports for internal stakeholders, insurance companies, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor and investigate marine incidents, damages, or equipment failures to identify root causes and provide remediation recommendations.
- Ensure all maritime activities align with PT Ara Samudra's internal QHSE policies and international maritime law.
- Maintain effective communication with captains, ship owners, and port authorities to facilitate smooth inspection processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related maritime discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience as a Marine Surveyor or in a similar technical role within the shipping industry.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime conventions (SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC) and classification society rules.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (both written and verbal).
- Willingness to travel to ports and work in various environmental conditions as required.
- Possession of valid marine certifications or surveyor training certificates is highly preferred.
