Jucons Construction is seeking a results-driven Mechanical Engineer to oversee equipment maintenance, personnel management, and site logistics. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to join our growing team in Tacloban City, Leyte.
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems across our construction projects. You will lead a team of technicians and workers, coordinate maintenance activities, and implement strategies to minimize equipment downtime while maintaining the highest safety standards.
The ideal candidate must be prepared to work on-site in physically demanding construction environments and be available to address urgent mechanical issues as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise mechanical maintenance operations and activities on construction sites
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all mechanical equipment and machinery
- Manage personnel, assign tasks, and ensure proper training and compliance with safety protocols
- Coordinate site logistics, including equipment deployment, resource allocation, and workflow optimization
- Inspect equipment regularly, diagnose mechanical problems, and oversee repair and restoration work
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure mechanical operations align with overall project timelines and deliverables
- Document maintenance procedures, equipment specifications, and operational reports
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- Proven experience in construction, industrial, or manufacturing settings
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and industry best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to urgent mechanical emergencies
- Valid professional license or certification is an advantage
