As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for processing patient specimens, calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments, and documenting results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests on patient specimens in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and molecular diagnostics.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Accurately document test results and quality control data within the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and maintain precise records.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures, participate in internal audits, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to interpret results and provide technical guidance.
- Stay current with emerging laboratory technologies, contribute to method validation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably with exposure to hematology, clinical chemistry, and microbiology.
- Valid certification or licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (e.g., MLT certification from a recognized authority) is advantageous.
- Proficient in the use of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
