We are currently seeking a creative and strategic Merchandiser Fashion / Buyer Fashion to join our team and elevate our fashion department to new heights.
In this key role, you will be the driving force behind our fashion product selection. Your core responsibilities include analyzing current fashion trends, selecting merchandise that aligns with customer preferences and seasonal demands, and negotiating with vendors to secure optimal pricing and terms. You will also manage inventory levels to ensure the right stock is available at the right time, collaborate with store operations and marketing teams to plan effective promotions and visual merchandising, and conduct market research to stay ahead of competitors. Additionally, you will prepare sales forecasts, monitor performance, and adjust buying strategies accordingly to achieve sales and margin targets.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong fashion sense, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record in buying or merchandising within a retail environment. The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 2-3 years of experience, strong negotiation abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement buying strategies to achieve sales and margin goals
- Identify fashion trends and analyze market data to select profitable merchandise
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable terms
- Manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing overstock and markdowns
- Monitor competitor activities and adjust product assortments accordingly
- Collaborate with marketing teams to plan promotions and visual merchandising
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts to guide business decisions
- Travel to trade shows and supplier locations to source new products
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fashion buying, merchandising, or retail management
- Strong knowledge of fashion trends and consumer behavior
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and manage multiple priorities
- Fluent in English is a plus
- Proficiency in inventory management software is an advantage
