Responsibilities

  • Conduct microbiological testing on a wide range of samples in strict accordance with ISO, BAM, Pharmacopeia, and validated in-house methods.
  • Prepare culture media, reagents, and specialized solutions required for daily laboratory analysis.
  • Perform sample preparation, inoculation, and incubation procedures following aseptic techniques.
  • Interpret laboratory results, maintain accurate data logs, and generate comprehensive technical reports for clients.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Support the laboratory management team in maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation and participating in proficiency testing programs.
  • Assist in the validation of new testing methods and the troubleshooting of analytical deviations.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to strict biosafety protocols and corporate HSE guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of practical experience in a commercial or diagnostic microbiology laboratory.
  • Strong technical knowledge of ISO 17025, BAM (Bacteriological Analytical Manual), and USP/EP Pharmacopeia standards.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques and various microbial identification methods.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets accurately.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical reporting and team collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is highly preferred.
